After six operating days, the FACES team successfully wrapped up their surgical cases at Belen Hospital. The team of 19 medical professionals and support staff operated on a total of 37 patients, the majority of whom received treatment for their cleft lip and/or palate. FACES’ focuses on the most indigent, medically underserved populations.
The days were long – usually topping off at 14 to 16 hours working at the hospital. Of course, the looks on parents faces once their child was delivered into their arms made it all worth it.
Congratulations to the FACES team who made this happen! FACES would also like to thank the medical staff at Belen Hospital for their ongoing support, and the Lions Club, who are at the Hospital all day to offer social support and organization for the families and patients.
