Since 2006, FACES has brought together dedicated volunteers to provide comprehensive cleft care to children in Peru. In July 2026, the medical team returned for an additional surgical mission, providing 26 children and adolescents with life-changing surgery.
The Patient Waitlist
As the FACES Foundation’s network has grown, more families from across Northern Peru are bringing their children to FACES for evaluation and care. With that growth has come an increasing need for surgical services, particularly for older children and adolescents who require additional or revision procedures. To help address the patient waitlist and expand access to care, the FACES surgical team and Hospital Belén have long advocated for an additional surgical mission beyond the annual January campaign.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors and the dedicated medical volunteers who stepped forward to serve, that long-held dream became a reality in July 2026.
