A Special Greeting from Pope Leo XIV

To the members of the FACES Foundation - with gratitude for all your generous service, helping children in Peru.

We are honored to share a very special greeting recently received by the FACES Foundation from Pope Leo XIV. Long before his election as Pope, then Bishop Robert Prevost served as Bishop of Chiclayo from 2015 to 2023, where he became deeply connected to the people and communities of northern Peru - the same region FACES has served for the past 20 years.

Our connection with Pope Leo XIV dates back to 2017, when Father Freddy Beltrán, a longtime friend of FACES Peru Manager Delia Delgado, arranged for the newly appointed Bishop Prevost to meet members of the FACES team during patient evaluations. In that meeting and in later conversations, Dr. Tom Albert, Dr. Dana Smith, Kelly Jensen, Delia Delgado and Angela Kelly explored ways to reach children with clefts through Church networks.
